The Houston Oilers played in Houston Texas from 1960 to 1996. They were an original member of the American Football League (AFL) and were the first AFL championships in 1960 and won again in 1961. The team moved to Tennessee after the 1996 season, firstly as the Tennessee Oilers and then in 1999 the Tennessee Titans.
